Much better than Vinnie's slick but another-day-at-the-office performance on the new Andy Summers CD Earth & Sky. That cost me, this was free. Muchas gracias, Esteban!

Too bad this can't be released as an official CD. This is some of the wildest Vinnie drumming I've ever heard, outstripping every CD I've gotten from the high-priced import places. I love the way VC can get away with such rambunctious overplayed fills on Stawberry Fields at 1:15, 2:30 and 7:35 and can't believe people were talking during this. One can only imagine what a second set would've sounded like but judging from what Vinnie said at the end of the fifth track they may have called it a night. How could they possibly follow something like this?
Steve, I've thanked you once, now I'm doing it again. Incredible. Any idea where and when this took place? Pena and Garfield were playing together in mid '94, maybe this was an after-the-tour-let-their-hair-down blowout. Was it recorded with a mini-disc recorder? If it was I'm buying one, no question.

It was recorded on a hand held DAT, mid nineties I believe. I EQ'd it a bit, raising only the low end. I did it years ago actually so the EQ job may be a bit poor. WAV files in Cool Edit Pro kind of thing.
Glad you guys like it!

Just ridiculous! I've never seen Vinnie play unfortunately, he never ever seems to come to London. When I did finally see Sting a couple of years ago (after writing 10.500 words on the b*stard for my dicitation) Manu was on drums. Very good, obviously, but not Vinnie!

Wow, thanks for these, Steve! With regard to downloads, my 'puter is about as fast as a herd of turtles charging through peanut butter. Which one of these is "SFF"? I'll start with that one.
